Welcome to Chebara Boys High School

Chebara Boys High School was started in 1965 at Kapsowar intermediate school try African Inland Church under the leadership of a missionary from the Netherlands called Schotanus. It was later moved to the current Chebara in 1966. The school population upon inception was 30 students for form one and two. Since then, the student population has been steadily rising to the current student population of over 150 students of eight streams per class and sixty-five teaching staff.

The main purpose of relocation was to separate the girl child from the boy child, i.e., rescue the girl child from early marriages and other culturally related factors. Among the pioneering leaders were Mr. Joshua Chebobei, Ishmael Koimur and Ezekiel Chebet. Some of the pioneering students include Nathaniel Tum, Hon Robert Kipkorir, and Johnstone Chepkwony, among others. The first principal was Mr. JE Kadhambi and some of the notable teaching staff included Dr. Anderson, Meyers, Andrew Chemweno, and others. The school has produced notable scholars and professionals in various fields who are serving in key positions both locally and internationally.
