The Party of National Unity (PNU) was founded in 2007 as a coalition of like-minded political parties and leaders who shared a common goal: to promote unity, peace, and progress in Kenya. Formed in the lead-up to the 2007 general elections, PNU brought together diverse political voices to support the presidential candidacy of H.E. Mwai Kibaki, who later won re-election under the party’s banner. The party played a central role in Kenya’s coalition government formed after the post-election crisis, contributing significantly to national reconciliation and institutional reforms.
Over the years, PNU has continued to evolve, transitioning from a coalition into a fully-fledged political party rooted in democratic values, national cohesion, and inclusive development. Under the current leadership, PNU is revitalized and focused on addressing the pressing needs of Kenyans through sound policy, people-driven leadership, and a commitment to service. Today, PNU remains a steadfast voice for unity and progress, building on its legacy while charting a bold, transformative path for Kenya’s future.
The National Executive Committee (NEC) serves as the highest decision-making organ of the Party of National Unity (PNU), entrusted with steering the party’s strategic direction, policy formulation, and day-to-day operations. Comprised of dedicated and visionary leaders from diverse backgrounds, the NEC embodies the party’s commitment to inclusive, democratic, and effective leadership that puts the interests of Kenyans first.
Our leadership team works tirelessly to uphold the party’s values of unity, integrity, and progress. Through collective action and open consultation, the National Executive Committee ensures that PNU remains responsive to the aspirations of our members and the wider Kenyan society. Together, we are shaping a stronger, more united, and prosperous future for all.
