SWASAP
KWAHO is implementing the Sustainable Management and Access to Water and Sanitation in the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands Programme (SWASAP) in Tana River County; Golbanti and Wenje Vukoni. The programme, funded by GOK and Danida through Water Fund, seeks to Increase community resilience and adaptation to climate change through sustainable, peaceful use of natural resources including improved access to water and sanitation services in the target ASAL Counties.
In the programme, KWAHO is undertaking capacity building of county health officials and community level health volunteers on WASH, supporting sanitation and hygiene in 2 primary schools, promoting open defecation free environments through Community Led Total Sanitation in 60 villages and collaborating with the fund Applicant; Welthungerhilfe and its consortium partner-Tana Water and Sanitation Company (TAWASCO) in meeting other key WASH objectives in Tana River County.
