Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation
Climate change adaptation and mitigation for WRM- Nandi, Tinderet
KWAHO is implementing a climate resilience environmental program in Tinderet, Nandi County. The program aims to facilitate improved livelihoods and water resources management through climate resilience adaptive and mitigative strategies in the rural Nandi by introducing bamboo as a fast-growing grass to manage water resources as well as enhancing livelihoods through trainings on bamboo value addition, sustainable management and propagation. Specifically, KWAHO will contribute to increased forest cover and improved livelihoods (adaptive and mitigative approaches) through value addition and unlocking bamboo energy solutions – bamboo briquettes and pellets, bamboo furniture and handicrafts and weaving.
