Many Kenyans depend on surface water and underground sources of\nwater for their livelihoods. For instance, water for agriculture, water for\ndrinking, water for fishing, water for recreation. Water is important in\nensuring our wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Polluted\nwater is unsuitable for drinking, recreation, and agriculture. It is\nunfortunate that water pollution is a rising issue of concern in Kenya. This\npollution is largely caused by agricultural runoff, disposal of solid waste,\nsewage especially in the urban areas and discharge of untreated industrial\nwaste. Industrial waste can be toxic, corrosive or reactive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If\nimproperly managed, industrial waste can pose serious and dangerous health and\nenvironmental effects.
