More than 74,000 people have been infected by the virus and hundreds more in over 25 countries. Fatalities in China have so far hit more than 2,400. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Africa is at the moment\u00a0free from the killer virus. As a result, this has led to the spread of a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/faladepapagaio.blogspot.com\/2020\/02\/chinese-doctors-confirmed-african-blood.html\">misleading narrative<\/a>\u00a0that Africans, due to their genetic composition and skin can resist Covid-19. This is after two people suspected to have contracted the virus were successfully treated in Egypt and a Cameroonian who was treated in China. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On February 12, the World Health Organisation (WHO) said the person confirmed to have the virus in the North African state \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.standardmedia.co.ke\/article\/2001361136\/who-says-man-diagnosed-with-coronavirus-in-egypt-no-longer-a-carrier\">is no longer carrying the virus<\/a>.\u201dThe nationality of the person was however not confirmed.
