This is because of the combined effect of several factors, including insufficient and irregular rainfall, poor or saline soils, low levels of inputs, and parasites. These present major challenges to the region\u2019s food and nutritional security, the fight against rural poverty and the pursuit of sustainable agriculture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To address these challenges, studies recommend various growing practices that can improve how much is produced from farms and forests. One of these is the use of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aquaportail.com\/definition-4138-organisme-symbiotique.html\">symbiotic micro-organisms<\/a>&nbsp;as&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biofertilisants.fr\/comprendre-les-biofertilisants\/biofertilisant-quest-ce-cest-ca-sert\/\">biofertilisers<\/a>. This is when micro-organisms live on plants and develop a mutually beneficial relationship with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/books.openedition.org\/irdeditions\/3306?lang=fr\">practice<\/a>\u00a0of using micro-organisms isn\u2019t widespread in West Africa.
