{"id":7830,"date":"2020-01-29T09:36:46","date_gmt":"2020-01-29T06:36:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/africasustainabilitymatters.com\/?p=7830"},"modified":"2026-01-11T05:30:49","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T05:30:49","slug":"solar-power-firm-targets-45000-homes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rayscohosting.best\/ASM\/2020\/01\/29\/solar-power-firm-targets-45000-homes\/","title":{"rendered":"Solar Power Firm Targets 45,000 Homes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By Brian Ngugi<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Busia-based Portuguese off-grid energy company says it targets selling solar-based renewable power to 45,000 households in Kenya after acquiring nine new off-grid clean energy sites in five counties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RVE.SOL, which operates in Kenya as Kudura Power East Africa, said it acquired the Kenya sites from Seattle-based investment fund Vulcan founded by Microsoft co-founder Paul G. Allen. The sites are in Marsabit, Turkana, Kajiado, Nakuru and Migori.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe acquisition puts us well on our way to operating 50 sites and serving 45,000 people with renewable electricity by mid-2021,\u201d RVE.
