In order\nto make this a reality, it will require sustained action in this decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This requires doing things differently, disrupting our\nway of thinking, as business as usual will not lead to achievement of global\nand national aspirations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, usage of firewood, charcoal, kerosene and other\nharmful cooking technologies in Kenya, remain in wide use, despite the many\nassociated perils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the 2019 Kenya Cooking Sector Study\ncommissioned by Clean Cooking Association of Kenya (CCAK) in collaboration with\nthe Ministry of Energy, two out of three households in the country use wood\nfuel (including charcoal and firewood); with another 14 percent using kerosene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These harmful technologies are used at a huge cost to the environment and the health of inhabitants of these households. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessdailyafrica.com\/analysis\/columnists\/Let-s-make-clean-cooking-technologies-available-to-all\/4259356-5429334-nwa8i8\/index.html\">Read more<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Business Daily Kenya\u2019s Ministry of Energy aims to deliver modern, clean cooking solutions to all, two years ahead of the 2030 global target.
