{"id":6042,"date":"2019-10-18T11:24:40","date_gmt":"2019-10-18T08:24:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/africasustainabilitymatters.com\/?p=6042"},"modified":"2026-01-11T05:30:37","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T05:30:37","slug":"fao-and-danone-team-up-to-foster-sustainable-diets-and-food-systems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rayscohosting.best\/ASM\/2019\/10\/18\/fao-and-danone-team-up-to-foster-sustainable-diets-and-food-systems\/","title":{"rendered":"FAO And Danone Team Up To Foster Sustainable Diets And Food Systems"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>By FAO<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nFood and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.danone.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Danone<\/a>&nbsp;have agreed to work together to improve global\nnutrition and food safety knowledge, and promote responsible agricultural value\nchains for more sustainable food systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nUN agency and the global food and beverage company have a shared understanding\nof the need to scale up sustainable food and agricultural practices, and to\nprovide people with access to more diverse and healthier foods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sharing\ndata and knowledge on this, specifically on nutrition, food safety and\nresponsible investments in agriculture, will help advance efforts to\nreach&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fao.org\/sustainable-development-goals\/goals\/goal-2\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sustainable Development Goal 2<\/a>&nbsp;&#8211; Zero Hunger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This\nagreement will help advance global efforts to improve nutrition and food\nsafety, and make food systems more sustainable,&#8221; said FAO Director-General\nQu Dongyu at the signing of the agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emmanuel Faber, Chairman and CEO of Danone, said: &#8220;I am pleased to strengthen the ties between Danone and FAO by this agreement and to work together towards regenerative agriculture practices and eating habits &#8211; in line with our \u2018One Planet. One Health&#8217; vision.
