{"id":5898,"date":"2019-10-14T09:56:10","date_gmt":"2019-10-14T06:56:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/africasustainabilitymatters.com\/?p=5898"},"modified":"2026-01-11T05:30:36","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T05:30:36","slug":"harness-youth-innovation-to-meet-development-goals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rayscohosting.best\/ASM\/2019\/10\/14\/harness-youth-innovation-to-meet-development-goals\/","title":{"rendered":"Harness Youth Innovation To Meet Development Goals"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By&nbsp;Raphael Obonyo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With 70 percent of Africa\u2019s\npopulation under the age of 30, the continent has the largest youth population\nthat presents immense potential for growth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, it depends on how\nwe look at the large youth population; is it a glass half full or half empty.\nWe should not look at the number of young people as a challenge or a problem to\nbe managed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the largest youth\npopulation in history, the continent has the greatest opportunity in history,\nbecause, with each young person, we have new ideas and new energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fact is that a large\nnumber of young people means that Africa has immense potential and unusual\nideas coming from different backgrounds and culture.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fresh ideas can be found in\nthe younger generation. Africa must invest in youth to secure the future.\nThere\u2019s a need to invest in, take action and amplify opportunities for young\npeople.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Young people must be at the\ncenter of development.
