We have already witnessed growing\nheat waves, both in frequency and amplitude. They severely affect the functioning\nand health of cities and their citizens. Rising temperatures contribute to\nheat-related deaths, reduced workforce productivity\u2014estimated at 2.2 per cent\nof working hours lost worldwide by 2030\u2014and poor air quality, which\ndisproportionately affects the poorest communities.
