Kimani<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently in the media,\nthere have been high profile tax disputes between the Kenya Revenue Authority\n(KRA) and some big corporates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These\ndisputes involved colossal sums of money and for that reason, the outcomes of\nthese cases are significant because the judgments may set a precedent for such\ndisputes in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\ntaxman has issued a stern warning stating that it would stop at nothing in\nrecovering Sh250 billion \u201ctax cheats\u201d owe it. To recover the money, it has\npromised more prosecutions and administrative actions. The number of tax\ndisputes is expected to rise due to an increasingly aggressive and sophisticated\napproach by the revenue authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This\nis not unique to Kenya.
