This position continues to be undermined by the\ncontinued sub-division of arable land. A majority of Kenyan communities still\nbury their dead on tiny farms; build houses on ever shrinking pieces of land\nand urbanization has seen previously rich agricultural lands turned into\nconcrete jungles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a\nresult, the country has one of the highest numbers of subsistence farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At\nIndependence, the clamor for land ownership was real, and a key driving force\nbehind the freedom fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every\ncitizen aspired and looked forward to owning a piece of land.
