The death toll stands at 52 while\n1,300 people are still missing two weeks after hurricane Dorian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UN Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres who\nvisited the country blamed the devastation on global warming and urged world\nleaders to take greater action to address climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Guterres said climate change has generated\n\u2018turbocharged\u2019 hurricanes and storms, which are occurring with greater\nintensity and frequency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides that, melting of glaciers, rising sea\nlevels and intense heat waves have also been blamed on climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Kenya and many parts of Africa, protracted\ndrought spells, which cause deaths and widespread suffering, have become\ncommonplace. Floods also continue to cause misery across the world. All these\nare caused by mostly by greenhouse gases produced by human activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is these gases that the children want\nreduced to halt this march to doom. Sadly, some world leaders, including US\nPresident Donald Trump, still don\u2019t believe climate change is real, undermining\nmomentum for tackling the global emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But with or without such\nleaders, the world must take action to avert a climate apocalypse. The time to\nsave the world is now.
