{"id":5135,"date":"2019-09-06T09:58:54","date_gmt":"2019-09-06T06:58:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/africasustainabilitymatters.com\/?p=5135"},"modified":"2026-01-11T05:30:31","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T05:30:31","slug":"a-decade-of-renewable-energy-investment-led-by-solar-tops-usd-2-5-trillion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rayscohosting.best\/ASM\/2019\/09\/06\/a-decade-of-renewable-energy-investment-led-by-solar-tops-usd-2-5-trillion\/","title":{"rendered":"A Decade Of Renewable Energy Investment, Led By Solar, Tops USD 2.5 Trillion"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>By UN\nEnvironment<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Global investment in new renewable energy capacity over\nthis decade \u2014 2010 to 2019 inclusive \u2014 is on course to hit USD 2.6 trillion,\nwith more gigawatts of solar power capacity installed than any other generation\ntechnology, according to new figures published today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the&nbsp;<em>Global Trends in Renewable\nEnergy Investment 2019&nbsp;<\/em>report, released ahead of the UN Global\nClimate Action Summit, this investment is set to have roughly quadrupled\nrenewable energy capacity (excluding large hydro) from 414 GW at the end of\n2009 to just over 1,650 GW when the decade closes at the end of this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Solar power will have drawn half \u2014 USD 1.3 trillion \u2014 of\nthe USD 2.6 trillion in renewable energy capacity investments made over the\ndecade.
