This is a five-year plan that aims to fast track\nKenya\u2019s development and the realization of the Vision 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The gist of the agenda\nis raising contribution from manufacturing from the current 8.5 percent to 15\npercent, putting up 500,000 new houses, ensure 100percent universal health\ncoverage and 100percent food and nutritional security for all Kenyans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the current era of\nfourth industrial revolution (FIR) where disruptive frontier technologies are\nturning the traditional industries upside down, large-scale deployment of these\ntechnologies are critical for the achievement of these development agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Going by the\ntraditional linear industrialization model, Africa being a continent with a\nvery youthful population will benefit from demographic dividend and hence\nlabour intensive manufacturing will come to Africa as cost of labour goes up\nwith ageing workforce in Asian countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But with disruptive\ntechnology such as robotics and additive manufacturing, this may not happen, as\nrobots can be deployed to mass manufacturing at a fraction of cost provided by\nman power in Africa\u2026<a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessdailyafrica.com\/analysis\/columnists\/4259356-5242892-11mnid6z\/index.html\">Read more&gt;&gt;<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By JARO ARERO The Big 4 agenda as a development blueprint has been the buzz word for about two years.
