Geterminah<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Women Movement for Sustainable\nDevelopment (WOMUD) on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, launched the Women\u2019s\nParticipation in the Natural Resources Sectors Report under the title,\n\u201cStrengthening the Voices of Women in the ongoing land debate in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The purpose of the program is\nto promote women\u2019s access to control over productive resources, including land,\nnatural resources that guarantee their rights to participate in decision-making\nand leadership processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The study affected 15\ncommunities in Grand Bassa and Nimba counties from October 24, 2018, to January\n23, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Grace Y. Yeanay, WOMSUD\nexecutive director in her overview statement, said the project provided\nawareness and legal education to communities on the provisions of the approved\nland rights policy for Liberia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Yeanay said the legal\neducation component also strengthened the understanding of local women about\nproperty rights, and provided targeted skills on communication, media\nengagement, mobilization and cohesion building to enable women and girls\nadvocate for their rights within the framework of the land rights policy, and\nthose related to natural resources. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liberianobserver.com\/news\/womsud-launches-womens-participation-in-countrys-natural-resources\/\">Read\nmore\u2026<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Hannah N.
