{"id":3947,"date":"2019-07-22T11:49:49","date_gmt":"2019-07-22T11:49:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/africasustainabilitymatters.com\/?p=3947"},"modified":"2026-01-11T05:30:25","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T05:30:25","slug":"reduce-maternal-mortality-consider-womens-rights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rayscohosting.best\/ASM\/2019\/07\/22\/reduce-maternal-mortality-consider-womens-rights\/","title":{"rendered":"Reduce Maternal Mortality, Consider Women\u2019s Rights\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By\u00a0Olayemi John-Mensah<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Executive Director of Women Advocates Research and\nDocumentation Centre, WARDC, Dr. Abiola Afolabi has said maternal mortality can\nbe successfully reduced if Nigeria put women\u2019s rights at the Centre of the\nequation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking at a roundtable discussion on accountability for\nmaternal health in Nigeria, Dr. Afolabi said one of the objectives of our\ncentre is to ensure a greater appreciation of the legal implications of the\nstate\u2019s responsibility for maternal mortality.
