{"id":3433,"date":"2019-06-28T07:36:15","date_gmt":"2019-06-28T07:36:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/africasustainabilitymatters.com\/?p=3433"},"modified":"2026-01-11T05:30:22","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T05:30:22","slug":"young-women-and-adolescent-girls-on-the-sidewalk-of-rwandas-road-to-universal-health-coverage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rayscohosting.best\/ASM\/2019\/06\/28\/young-women-and-adolescent-girls-on-the-sidewalk-of-rwandas-road-to-universal-health-coverage\/","title":{"rendered":"Young women and adolescent girls on the \u201csidewalk\u201d of Rwanda\u2019s \u201croad\u201d to Universal Health Coverage"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>By Chantal\nUmuhoza <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Rwanda, there were more\nthan 19,000 teen pregnancies in 2018 and between 2016-2018, more than 55,000\nteen deliveries (between 15 -19 years), reported by the Ministry for Health yet\nthe sexuality of young people mostly young women and adolescents is largely\nunaccepted and their autonomy&nbsp;to make sexual and reproductive health\nchoices is suppressed in different ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In September 2019 for the first time, The United Nations will hold\na high level meeting on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) with the theme: \u201cMoving\ntogether to build a healthier world\u201d to garner&nbsp;momentum and political\ncommitment for UHC.
