On the other hand,\nindustries continue to advocate for reuse and recycle of plastic waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The end result in either case\nis environmental conservation, therefore, it is clear that leveraging on waste\nmanagement will ensure that we all establish an effective circular economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Kenya, it is encouraging to\nsee the government giving due consideration to plastic waste management. This\nwas demonstrated in the recently read Budget Statement that gave two\nprogressive proposals to incentivize recycling:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposal to exempt from VAT\nall services offered to plastics recycling plants and supply of machinery and\nequipment used in the construction of recycling plants and the proposal to\nlower corporation tax for the first five years to 15 percent for any investors\noperating as plastic recycling plant\u2026<a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessdailyafrica.com\/analysis\/columnists\/4259356-5174234-124udmmz\/index.html\">Read more&gt;&gt;<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By PHYLIS WAKIAGA The global conversation on plastic waste management continues to get heated by the day.
