{"id":3064,"date":"2019-06-14T06:50:08","date_gmt":"2019-06-14T06:50:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/africasustainabilitymatters.com\/?p=3064"},"modified":"2026-01-11T05:30:20","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T05:30:20","slug":"ebola-claims-boy-in-uganda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rayscohosting.best\/ASM\/2019\/06\/14\/ebola-claims-boy-in-uganda\/","title":{"rendered":"Ebola Claims Boy In Uganda"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>By The East African<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A\nfive-year-old boy with the first confirmed case of the deadly Ebola virus in\nUganda has died, sources have confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The child\nwas receiving care at an Ebola treatment centre in Kasese near the western\nborder with the Democratic Republic of Congo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The source\nfrom Kasese, who spoke to the&nbsp;<em>Nation&nbsp;<\/em>on condition of anonymity because the person is not\nauthorised to speak publicly, said details on the child&#8217;s death would be\nannounced later on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The World\nHealth Organisation (WHO) on Tuesday evening confirmed the first Ebola case in\nUganda, a spillover from the deadly outbreak in DR Congo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nchild&#8217;s family had travelled to DRC to attend a funeral and returned home on\nJune 9. It is spread through contact with the body fluids such as vomit,\nblood or faeces of a person sick with the disease.
