It combines the world\u2019s largest solar farm, the most extended undersea electricity cable, and the largest battery. It will cost about&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/oilprice.com\/Alternative-Energy\/Renewable-Energy\/Australias-Ambitious-16-Billion-Solar-Project-Will-Be-The-Worlds-Biggest.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$16 billion<\/a>&nbsp;but already has investors, including&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.intelligentliving.co\/australian-billionaires-invest-massive-solar-farm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">billionaires Andrew \u2018Twiggy\u2019 Forrest and Mike Cannon-Brookes<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The solar farm will cover 30,000 acres and deliver 10 gigawatts (GWs) of power \u2013 the equivalent of nine million rooftops solar photovoltaic (PV) panels. It will be located in Australia\u2019s sunny Northern Territory. The solar farm will deliver round-the-clock dispatch of clean power thanks to a 30 gigawatt-hour (GWh) battery storage facility on-site. That\u2019s 155 times more energy storage capacity than the world\u2019s largest lithium-ion battery currently in operation \u2013 Australia\u2019s 193.5 megawatt-hours (MWh)&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.intelligentliving.co\/tesla-make-worlds-biggest-battery-50-bigger\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hornsdale Power Reserve<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the solar farm is located in the middle of nowhere, the project will require\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/assets.new.siemens.com\/siemens\/assets\/api\/uuid:d5c5f4ae-d9f6-49e9-b68b-85bb7ceb4f41\/factsheet-hvdc-e.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cables<\/a>\u00a0to get the power out. The plan is for an 800-kilometer high-voltage overhead power line to transmit 3 GW to Darwin on the northern coast, then a transfer to a 3,700 km 2.2 GW undersea power line that will\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.intelligentliving.co\/largest-solar-farm-australia-singapores-electricity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">deliver electricity to Singapore<\/a>.
